The Estate of Chant Avedissian

The fan is an Oriental object that sporadically appears in Avedissian’s artworks. An example of an ancient item conquering the West and still used all along the World. Also, the fan is as pop as fancy, and for some cultures, even a symbol of social status and power. The fan goes further than gender, culture, status, country and time. The patterns printed on the fans come from 'Transfer, Transport, Transit' exhibition.
