A little and playful reference to Matisse’s ‘Cutouts’, eastern inspiration as an art identity statement and the usual background elements of Chant Avedissian’s Cairo stencils. Some of the most celebrated and famous artworks the atist's created during his life are condensed in this piece from a different perspective. Chant presents here elements that are shown in many stencils giving them the prominence they did not have in the past but also adding new meanings by creating an Arab alphabet for Western audience, a Western alphabet for Arabs and the silhouettes of the Arab countries.
