Sabrina Amrani is pleased to present "In the Future They Ate From the Finest Porcelain", Larissa Sansour's second solo exhibition at the gallery.
The artist Larissa Sansour born in East Jerusalem, presents on this occasion and as the centerpiece of the exhibition her latest video entitled "In the Future They Ate From the Finest Porcelain". It is a short science fiction filmed, accompanied by three photographs and two installations through which the artist poses a dystopian scenario about the situation of the Palestinian people.
As in previous videos Sansour introduces us into specific problems arising from this conflict, however using strategies and codes away from own mass media's. The artist finds in science fiction the perfect way to re-introduce the viewer overwhelmed by the repetitive images of armed conflict, into post-apocalyptic spaces created by computer, which are ultimately no longer reproductions of real environments unrelated to a space and a certain time. Also irony is a very effective vehicle in her work to connect with an audience that after 60 years of conflict has left to attend distress calls of a continually muted people .
