Sabrina Amrani is pleased to present ARCHIVO, a group exhibition that inaugurates Sabrina Amrani Projects, the gallery’s new exhibition space, during APERTURA Madrid Gallery Weekend 2026.

An archive is a contained space of elements generated in the past, with validity in the present and projection into the future. A meeting place for processes where accident is embraced as part of the very nature of the object being kept.

Through the work of Pablo Barreiro, Paloma de la Cruz, Alba Lorente, Cristina Mejías and Claudia Pastomás, ARCHIVO brings together the work of five creators who understand matter as a living part of the artistic process. Works in which matter preserves the memory of the actions that pass through it and remains in a constant state of transformation.

This desire to preserve the memory and knowledge of the artistic process focuses on showing, without ambiguity, the paths travelled. The artistic medium is thus understood not as an exceptional element, but as an elemental part of a language in permanent reformulation.

The exhibition echoes the very space that houses it and which, like the works presented, preserves the memory of the processes that have shaped it into what it is today. A living archive that, by eliminating the containment of the concept itself, offers us the opportunity to understand art from the immediacy of the moment and not from the perspective of the past.

ARCHIVO inaugurates Sabrina Amrani Projects, a new space that expands the gallery’s ecosystem and opens a territory for new forms of exhibition, collaboration, experimentation and encounter.

In this first project, Sabrina Amrani Projects explores collaboration with other Spanish galleries, inviting Alarcón Criado (Cristina Mejías), Arniches (Alba Lorente), Galería Nordés (Pablo Barreiro), T20 (Paloma de la Cruz) and Vangar (Claudia Pastomás).
