'Common Grounds'
22 Jan - 1 Mar 2014
Sabrina Amrani welcomes the new year with ‘Common Grounds’, an exhibition by Saudi artist Ayman Yossri Daydban, who has never been shown in Spain before. Born in 1966, Ayman Yossri has lived almost all his life in Jeddah and he identifies himself with Saudi Arabia and its idiosincrasy but is in fact of Palestinian origin with a Jordanian nationality. This sense of national dislocation has an effect on his artistic production. The exhibition gathers the lastest body of artwork Ayman has produced over the last five years, presenting selected works from four different series.
Ayman Yossri Daydban is represented by Athr Gallery, Jeddah, KSA.
ARTIST TALK AT CASA ÁRABE
Coinciding with the exhibition at Sabrina Amrani Gallery and as a parallel activity to international art fair ARCOmadrid, Ayman Yossri Daydban will offer a talk at Casa Árabe (House of the Arabs) in Madrid on Thursday 20th February 2014. Simultaneous translation will be provided via headsets. Admission will be free.
